CPFC Season Review 1989/90 - DVD

I hope this is ok to put this on here. This has been professionally transferred from the original VHS tape to DVD. This is a copy of the first Crystal Palace Season Review.

Palace returned to the top division and had a very good season with impressive performances and two great cup runs. If you never saw Wright and Bright playing for Palace this is for you.

If you are interested in obtaining a DVD with case and artwork from the original VHS (see photo) for 10 please pm me.

Running time is 90 minutes. Please remember that it is VHS quality.

I forget whether it was this one or the Palace Christmas '89 one that had extended highlights of the Millwall 4-3 game.

The all-time goalmouth scramble at the end when Millwall nearly made it 4-4 is a classic. Gray grinning at a devastated Sheringham is pure gold. If it is the video/DVD on sale here and you don't already own it, you need this in your collection!!

One of the great Selhurst league matches ever.

I can confirm that it is this dvd. It says it includes memorable victories at big spending Manchester United and Tottenham and extended highlights of one of the games of the season, the 4-3 success over Millwall.

There is a BUT here. Both the 1989-90 highlights you've got here and the Christmas 89 video had extended highlights yet they were slightly different highlights. Only one of them had the goalmouth scramble.

Have a look and see. It felt like it was last kick of the match when Brighty scored but it was 87th minute and plenty still happened after that. We really rode our luck to ohold on and win that match.

I have both the 1989-90 video and Xmas 1989 video on dvd and MP4 and have just watched them both. They both contain the goalmouth scramble where Cascarino totally mis-kicked and Waddock shot, Suckling fumbled the ball and Geoff Thomas hacked it off the line. Both videos show Andy Gray bear hugging Teddy Sheringham who is on his knees and Gray has a giant grin.

The 89-90 video has 20 mins highlights of the game whereas the Xmas video is mainly the goals with player interviews. The interview with Mark Bright says these were his first Palace goals in Division One.

It was an amazing game and we gave Millwall half of the old Holmesdale Road terracing which has a few crowd scenes when the goals went in.

Obviously time has not been kind and I've remembered that detail wrong. Good thing though as that goalmouth scramble is classic - glad it's on both.

At least I recalled the level of highlights being different.

That Christmas 89 one has got that funny Mark Dennis interview. His reaction to being described as a 'surprise signing' was great
