He’s a tidy footballer, but I don’t know what he’d add to the team. Is he skilful and creative enough to be the upgrade on Townsend? Can he play CM? Do we really need him with so many RB options.

I've never seen him play there. I've only ever seen him at RB or as a wingback for Arsenal. Very composed on the ball, but I haven't seen much in the way of creativity, goals, passing range etc. I don't think we're blessed with our current CM options either, but I'm not convinced Maitland-Niles would improve things that much.

Just the type of player we should be after. Can play in a number of positions too.
Dont expect to see him sign though as we are never proactive enough in the transfer market.
Seems a no brainer to me but hopefully will be proved wrong.

It’s strange as the report says West Brom pushing hard for a loan and there is a top four club (probably Leicester ) who also want him who arsenal would prefer to send him to ,weird that one
